Images to GIF: what this tool does
Combine a short sequence of still pictures into a GIF for a walkthrough, a simple stop-motion loop or a before-and-after comparison. Choose the order explicitly and set how long each picture remains visible. Different source sizes are fitted inside the output canvas without cutting off their edges.
How to use Images to GIF
- Select several PNG, JPEG or static WebP images.
- Use the frame list to move pictures up or down and remove unwanted images. Set the time per picture and output dimensions.
- Preview the sequence and export it as an animated GIF.
Quality, timing and file size
The output canvas initially follows the first picture. Other pictures are fitted inside it with transparent space around them, so they are not stretched or unexpectedly cropped. GIF has fewer colors than JPEG or PNG; photographic scenes may show banding. Keep the sequence short and use only the dimensions needed by its destination.
Processing happens in a browser worker, and your files are not uploaded. Start with a short animation on mobile. The tool checks file size, frame count and decoded pixels before editing; large or damaged files receive an error with a way to retry. You can cancel a running export and keep your source selection. The preview is an editing aid; download and inspect the result in its final destination because players can handle very short frame delays differently.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the frame order?
Yes. Move each image up or down using the labeled buttons in the image list. Removing one image does not discard the rest of the sequence.
Can I mix image dimensions?
Yes. Each image is proportionally fitted into the common output canvas. Empty space is transparent in the GIF.
Can I combine videos or animated images here?
This page accepts still PNG, JPEG and WebP images. Animated files are rejected instead of silently flattening them; use the dedicated animation tools.
Can I use this on my phone?
Yes, in a current browser with local canvas and worker support. Mobile budgets are lower to protect memory. Choose shorter, smaller animations, and use a desktop for a larger sequence.
Does this tool upload my files?
No. Image decoding and export run on your device. This website uses analytics for page visits and tool events, but filenames, source pixels and generated frames are not sent as analytics events.
