A few good questions.
How does GIF compression work?
The tool re-encodes your animation with a smaller width, lower frame rate and a reduced palette. These changes can lower file size with a visible quality tradeoff.
Will my GIF always get smaller?
No. An already optimized GIF may become larger. The result compares both sizes so you can decide whether to keep it.
Is the animation kept?
Yes. The output is an animated GIF. For very long GIFs, this tool applies a duration limit and reports an error instead of silently trimming the animation.
